When you need a sewer connection

Sewer connections are required whenever you're building where a typical septic system cannot be installed. If you're planning on tying into the existing municipal system where your property is located, there are several steps to follow — and we can handle them with you or for you.

The City of Boise process

For the City of Boise, the complete instructions are detailed in the documents below. The fee for the permit to tap the City of Boise sewer main is $75.

How the work is done

Most new residential sewer services in the City of Boise are run with 4″ PVC or 4″ ABS sewer pipe. Taps on the city main are made with tapping saddles, or drilled and fitted with an Inserta Tee.

  • 4″ PVC or 4″ ABS service pipe
  • Tapping saddle or Inserta Tee main connection
  • Trenching, bedding, backfill, and compaction
